We’ve all been there—you’re halfway through a solid round when your socks begin to bunch up, your feet get sweaty, and a new blister rears its ugly head on the back of your heel. But what if a simple change could fix all of that? Torn Golf Socks claim to do just that with their innovative design. But are they really the best socks for golfers, and do they provide value for money?
Price and Packaging
Torn Golf Socks range between size 5 and 12, and are available in three heights: Ankle, Ankle+ and Low Shin, priced at £6.99, £7.49 and £7.99 respectively. I placed an order for one pair of each height, each size UK 9-12, given that I generally wear a UK 10-11 size shoe. My order arrived promptly within a couple of days, and each pair of socks was nicely packaged in a simple, clear plastic pouch with a cardboard sleeve. The packaging is basic, but these are just a pair of socks after all.
Design and Fit
The first thing you’ll notice about Torn Golf Socks when you slip them on is their unique, perforated design. Unlike traditional socks, they feature strategically placed holes in the fabric. This isn’t just for style—it’s a deliberate design decision to help enhance breathability. This really did make a noticeable difference when I tested them out, especially given it was humid when I played. The improved air circulation definitely felt like it helped to keep my feet cool and dry, which is really important to help avoid blisters. In addition to these holes, the socks are also designed to wick away moisture, meaning that sweat is drawn from the skin and moved to the sock’s outer surface, before it evaporates.

Obviously, this is a difficult thing to measure, but it’s safe to say that my feet didn’t feel clammy or sweaty at any point either during or after my round, so I’d have to assume that the moisture-wicking worked well. The heel of these socks is also carefully designed to reduce friction in order to help prevent blisters, which might be particularly helpful when wearing a new pair of golf shoes for the first time. Since my golf shoes are properly bedded in now, heel blisters aren’t something I tend to experience with them. In terms of sizing and fit, as mentioned above, I bought these socks in a UK size 9-12 and they fitted like a…well…sock. I found each style to be very comfortable on foot with no stray threads or bunching.

On-course Performance
The real test of any golf product is its performance during the round. Over the course of 18 holes, I found the socks remained snug and secure, without any of the irritating slipping or bunching that often happens with other socks, particularly when making golf swings or walking up and down hills. This enhanced grip was likely thanks to the rubber spots dotted all over the underside of each sock, designed to provide extra traction, like those socks you’re given at trampoline or inflatable parks.
These spots aren’t just a gimmick, though—they really do work. I genuinely felt like my socks were glued to my FootJoy PRO Lite golf shoes for the entire 18 holes. In fact, I actually struggled to get my foot into my golf shoe before my round because the spots kept sticking.
Pros and Cons
Now that we’ve discussed on-course performance, let’s take a look at the main pros and cons for the Torn Golf Socks.
Pros
- Excellent Breathability: The perforated design works very well for keeping feet cool and dry.
- Stability: The snug fit and non-slip grip help prevent your feet from moving around inside your golf shoes whilst making swings.
- Comfort and Fit: They fit really well, are true to size and are comfortable to wear.
- Quality: They’re made from high-quality materials and are well-sewn/finished.
Cons
- Limited Colour-ways: Only available in white, which might not appeal to all golfers, especially those looking for a winter golf sock.
- Price: As with many premium golf products, they come with a slightly higher price tag than a standard pair of socks.
Final Thoughts
So, are Torn Golf Socks the best socks for golf? For those of you who prioritise comfort, breathability, and are looking for a blister-free round, they’re absolutely worth the investment. They might cost a little more than a standard pair of socks, but they’re well-made, they fit perfectly, and they’ll keep those blisters at bay. Whilst your wallet may not thank you for buying some Torn Golf Socks, your feet most definitely will.
